We have now published our Product Recall Bulletin covering the full recall data from 2022, covering food, consumer products and automotive authorities around the world.
There are highs and lows across the product recall numbers, with the EU RASFF posting the second highest number of recalls in the past 6 years but the USDA are still reporting very low numbers compared to pre-pandemic. In consumer products, the number of recalls from US CPSC and EU Safety Gate (RAPEX) are at their highest since 2017. Automotive recalls in the US are remaining high, following a low during the pandemic, with both 2021 and 2022 being higher than the 4 years before the pandemic.
